Protein+ Superfood Icy Creamy Popsicles
By 180 Nutrition
Icy-cold, Creamy, Nutritious! There’s nothing like enjoying homemade icy-cold popsicles on a hot day. The problem with the store-bought kind is that they typically contain high fructose corn syrup and artificial flavors. Not these!
Making homemade popsicles are a fun way for kids and adults to experiment in the kitchen. It’s also an easy way to add more nutrients to your day without using refined sugar.
Adding yogurt for protein and probiotics for digestive health creates a natural creaminess that adds a smooth texture. Pureed bananas can also create a soft bite while a bit of coconut milk adds a creamy popsicle texture with a subtle sweet flavor.
An easy and refreshing treat to help you cool down from the heat. Try with Protein+ Vanilla or Chocolate, they won’t disappoint 🙂
- 2 serve Protein+ Superfood Blend (Vanilla or Chocolate)
- 300ml milk or any non-diary milk of your choice
- 3 tbsp of yoghurt and/or coconut cream
- 1 banana (optional)
- Place all of the ingredients into a blender and blitz until smooth
- Pour into your icy pole mould
Gently tap the moulds on the countertop to remove any air bubbles. Insert the popsicle sticks, and then freeze for at least 6 hours, or overnight.
- Depending on the size of your moulds, you should be able to make between 6-8 popsicles.
To remove the popsicles from the mould, run water on the outside of the moulds for some time until the ends are loose.
Use chocolate milk with the Protein+ Superfood Chocolate Blend for that extra chocolatey taste.
Big thanks to Elena from @woodnutty for sharing her icy pole recipe with the goodness of protein and superfoods.
