Quick Banana Protein Smoothie
This easy smoothie blends up deliciously thick and creamy. Full of rich banana flavour and a good source of potassium.
Whenever I buy bananas, there's always a few left that becomes overripe. Well these are ideal for freezing them to use in smoothies. Ripe bananas with a few brown spots are perfect for baking into bread and adding to smoothies because they are naturally sweet.
This banana smoothie is one of the easiest. It’s made with simple ingredients that you would always have in the kitchen, so that you can make it anytime you need a quick breakfast. An easy smoothie that is also a healthy snack for kids.
Best made with frozen bananas, but you can use unfrozen ripe bananas in a pinch. Just add more ice. Frozen bananas help to chill the smoothie and make it extra thick and creamy, similar to a milkshake.
- 1 serve of Protein Powder (vanilla or chocolate)
- 1 frozen banana
- 200ml of milk (dairy or non-dairy, your choice)
- Half cup of ice
Extra Tip: Add nuttiness and extra sticking power with a tablespoon of peanut butter, almond butter, or other nut butter.
If your banana is not frozen, just add more ice to help thicken and chill the smoothie.
Use chocolate milk to go with your chocolate protein powder to have a delicious rich Chocolate Banana Smoothie. Kids love em.
- Add all ingredients in a blender and blend until a smooth consistency is formed.
- Err on the side of using less liquid to begin with. You can always add more liquid to get to your desired consistency.
